[Friday November 20, 12pm]
I'm on the fast track to major embarrassing breakdown #2 and my mother didn't inform me that the carpenters were coming today.

I have a singing carpenter drilling wood in my study room, about a metre away from me as I attempt (a very futile one at that) to finish my BJWDGC*@(Y*($Y(R-ing syllabus. I am so skrewed I'm about to throw a tantrum.
post

where you at? [Thursday November 19, 1pm]
[ mood | calm ]

On my maiden journey of studying at home:
i can't recall when was the last time I ever dared to do so, things have been going better than expected so far,
The new desk is awesome

& Buddy couldn't be more cooperative:

he's the best study BUDDY ever :)

Today's aim: to sort out my internal mess and finish as much as I can :/ 3 days and I'm still languishing in "fail" hell.

So far, the experience of studying at home has been pretty nice and comforting. For starters, I don't feel the dread of the impending examinations as much as I do in the oppressive silence ( except for the constant sound of everyone typing away furiously) of CJK Library & for the first time in a long long long while (okay, it's been so long that I'm a bit stunned at myself right now...because i really can't remember when was the last time I had a proper lunch) I didn't have bread/ sandwich for lunch, I had an awesome, gianormous bowl of fish porridge topped of with tonnes of kai lan (Y)

plus :)

I inherited the title: 水 tong (I don't know what the real word is. HAHA) in NJ when it dawned upon everyone that I drink copious amounts of water/ tea/ liquid during lessons/ when I study, and to feed my habit:

wati made me 1 litre worth of Honey Lemon to compensate for the lack of a vending machine in my home- resulting in my inability to stock up on bottles of my lemon soda (which has become a daily necessity).
A good substitute I say! But I'm still glad I remembered to get one bottle of it before I left school last night

oh and I discovered something, the room my parents turned into study heaven? doesn't really get much internet reception because the modem's outside in the living room... & tbh, I'm glad that I don't get any internet in there, one distraction less :)

*hopefully I'm going to be productive*

just haven't met [Thursday November 19, 2am]
[ mood | loved ]

I officially have the world's sweetest parents.
After my most embarrassing breakdown in the library, my incompetency and unproductiveness was too much to bear, thanks so much [info]heartsowhite for the note ♥;
I received a call from my dad, insisting that he fetch me at 8.45pm, unusually early for me.
& since I had an extremely unproductive day at the library, seeing that I spent most of my time dwelling on pointless worries and panicking, I was basically grumbled my way through my conversation with my dad until he had no choice but to reveal his excitement:

" don't worry, you can come home and study"

In a bid to cater to my strange studying habits and needs, my parents have done their best to recreate my ideal study setting & while I can't say I've been very productive for the last 2 hours, I do appreciate their effort and this calls for more time at home! (dear buddy please cooperate with me. no barking/ disturbing until the 4th of December. Keep in mind that all the money I earn next time will go to you anyway, so if you want to keep up your expensive eating habits let me study!)

my dad, the world's sweetest man, even went out to buy the bulb for the study lamp (which he had searched high and low for) and beamed at himself for a good 5 minutes when he inserted it into the lamp which lit up the desk to perfect mugging condition lighting :)♥

they got a carpenter to construct the whole desk thing, to have all the drawers for me to put my files, to fit the weird shape of the room and wide enough to accommodate my mess! (which as you can tell, has already begun)

to top it off:

a comfy chair when I feel like all hope is lost & the parents even topped up our nespresso bullets supply to compete with Starbucks for my presence :)

i♥my.parents.

it's funny that JY was just talking to me about how school isn't everything ( coming from the dude who's still in school mugging) and isn't that so very true. Although.. it does feel like the only thing ruling my world right now.

Next term, it's muggerdom for me. I'm going to be a library/ mugger legend. Amadeep (sp?) watch outtt.

history in the making [Wednesday November 18, 9am]
& so life really hasn't been very exciting but there are the few little things which keep it amusing/ tolerable.

1. The aunty at the summit, she refers to me as "mei!" and nothing else.

I love it that she makes my teh-o the moment I step in without me even queuing.

Right now, teh-o is my little indulgence every day (k, maybe besides the hour of blogging/ spamaloting/ facebooking). I miss those days when my indulgence used to be a giant cone overflowing with ice cream from azabu sabo/ a walk around the shopping centre (sometimes I returned from these walks with a bag in hand and a lighter wallet.. so not very good mhm..)

However, in light of my diet ( which has been drastically modified to cater to the impending examinations i.e. no exercise required, just no carbs after 4-5 pm) and lack of tort knowledge, I have limited myself to the boundaries of the CJK Library until i find it forgivable to let myself sit at a starbucks and consume copious amounts of bagels and coffee.

Which reminded me, I've always imagined this happening to me one day:

BLACKLISTED

The other day it dawned upon me that I've been living at Starbucks outlets all across Singapore since 2005, and contributed to the demise of one of my favourite outlets, the Raffles city one which faced Chijmes. Don't get me wrong, I purchase drinks, food etc etc, but I also sit there for unreasonable hours absorbing text after text about artists like van gogh ( well that was then...now,I find myself trying to force my eyes open most of the time in my bid to get through law texts).

2. Catching the shuttle bus up the slope

Ignoring the fact that I haven't exercised in ages and am turning (actually I have already turned) into a fat slob who consumes copious amounts of sugar water, sugar and caffeine to keep myself awake, i tell you, the sheer joy of seeing the shuttle bus turn behind the crawling 67 I was on woke me up all together.

Whatever, will. exercise.once.all.this.is.over *nods*

3. library

WIN. I WIN.

I walked in to a near empty 3rd floor this morning. DO YOU KNOW HOW RARE THAT IS IN THIS SCHOOL?!
It's like an achievement in itself *beams*

4. funny incidents

so last night I went for dinner with hazmi and Hariz:

although I'm not sure if i consider food from the slummit dinner all together... mhm..

& Hariz decided to bring us to the slummit through this stairwell Hazmi and I had never gone by before.
Unbeknown to us, entering the stairwell = walking into a cloud of tobacco smoke.
& so

Hazmi exclaimed :" omg who would smoke in the freaking stairwell?!"

Hariz: "Yea lor! must be you lah hazmi"

Me:" yea lah hazmi, so inconsiderate"

& then we walked straight into a hugggeeee bunch of seniors who were puffing away and glaring at us.
WIN. WIN. WIN

Okay but seriously, how low can you go? Smoking in a freaking stairwell with no windows. Hello ventilation and common sense please? It wasn't even raining! & even if it was, there were other areas they could have gone to top up their lungs with tobacco at!

So yes, adventure of the day. We would find out later from hazmi that he knew those seniors and smoked with them before. He then proceeded to wish that he could disappear into thin air.
hoho.

4. I ♥ LKY, you awesome man
